Haat Bazaar and Covid 19 in Chhota Udepur district, Gujarat

The haat is the village marketplace where farmers, traders, vendors, and artists come to sell their produce/wares. Held once a week in every village, the haat is at the heart of the tribal economy. When the haats had to be closed down during the Covid 19 pandemic, many who depended on the sales that they did and earned their livelihood thereby, experienced great hardship to survive. This podcast covers the crisis of farmers, artists and small vendors who hardly made any income during the peak period of the Covid 19 pandemic.
