Alice Tilche
Alice Tilche is an anthropologist, curator, and filmmaker whose work explores the relationship between art and activism. She is Associate Professor in Anthropology and Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, where she co-directs CRIA, a hub for arts-centred and community-led research.
Her work focuses on indigeneity, nationalism, migration, and cultural politics. Her book Adivasi Art and Activism: Curation in a Nationalist Age (2022) and the film Broken Gods (2019) examine the role of art in struggles for citizenship and recognition in contemporary India.
Since 2020, she has collaborated with Dakxin Bajrange and Budhan Theatre to build Budhan Stories the vision for the Nomad Film School. She has taken a leading role in convening cross-regional partnerships, securing funding, and developing sustainable models for community-led arts training.
