Yashodara
Yashodara is a filmmaker, producer, and educator committed to using storytelling as a tool for visibility and social change. Trained in television journalism, she began her career in London as a researcher-producer for Frost Over the World (Al Jazeera English) before editing Inshallah Kashmir, which won the National Award for Best Investigative Film (2013). At the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Bangalore, she worked as a researcher and video producer on projects exploring mental health, disaster recovery and sustainability and has been a core member of the Urban Lens Film Festival. She has taught at Jamia Millia Islamia and IIHS, and collaborated with Budhan Theatre on filmmaking workshops for minority communities, exploring how digital storytelling can amplify marginalised voices and reclaim cultural agency.
