This podcast episode presents the death and destruction caused by Covid 19 in the Chhota Udepur district of Gujarat. While the district was not much impacted during the first wave of the pandemic in 2020, it got swamped during the second wave in 2021. The residents here speak of their experiences of their catching the infection, quarantine, hospitalisation and deaths in their family. The last rites of the deceased became an especially lonely experience as family members, friends and neighbours could no longer join the rituals. It was finally the human spirit that helped them survive the fear and loss!
